A pediatric cancer unit was inaugurated at Gem Hospital, Coimbatore, with Rotary Club and Project Rays of Hope to provide advanced care for children with cancer.
A free cancer screening and awareness programme was conducted at Gobi Hospital for the benefit of the public. The programme was jointly organized by Gobi Hospital, Rotary Club of Gobichettipalayam, and various social welfare organizations.
The event was inaugurated by renowned oncologist Dr. Nallaa G. Palanisami, who emphasized the importance of early detection and timely treatment of cancer. Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the need for regular health check-ups and awareness among the public to reduce the impact of the disease.
Medical experts provided guidance on cancer prevention, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options. Free screening facilities were made available to participants, and many members of the public benefited from the programme.
Several dignitaries, doctors, Rotary members, and social activists attended the event and appreciated the initiative. The organizers stated that such programmes would continue to be conducted to promote public health and create awareness about cancer prevention and early diagnosis.
